Never before have so many advanced and progressive features been crammed into a single package. Kevin Nash’s market-leading concept of responsive bite capture from the R3 has been incorporated so that the R4 gives you features and exceptional control over your fishing that has never been possible before. Intelligent Sensing was thus made even more intelligent.
Sensitivity
In practice, the R4 will respond to any type of take by a carp in any possible circumstance. The available sensitivity settings are not as important as the end result – even when your rod tips are bending from piled up weed or from high waves on lakes of thousands of acres, the R4 will still “tell” you everything you need to know and nothing you don’t. Never before has a bite detector been able to filter out disinformation in such a way.
Roller Wheel Sensing
The factory default setting for the R4 is line movement across the roller. Although replaced by Speed Sensing, it has the necessary specific features such as for winter zig fishing where line tension is rather slow.
Speed Sensing
Two levels of Speed Sensing respond to line movements faster than 1cm and 2cm per second to eliminate false bite registrations. Both settings utilize the new Drift Sensing Safeguard.
Wave Sensing
The next 2 sensitivity settings feature Wave Sensing technology to eliminate false registrations from waves or for fishing from a boat. Line movement is detected faster than 1cm and 2cm per second and after 15 or 30cm forward or backward over the roller. Both Wave Sensing settings have Drift Sensing Safeguard.
Drift Sensing Safeguard
Another new thing in the world of bite recording. Drift Sensing Safeguard protects you from the very slow drift of your spool when, for example, accumulated weed can put your line under very high tension and the tension is not enough to engage the Speed Sensing system.
Drop Back Sensing
All sensitivity settings of the R4 alert you to a back swimmer/sink with an alarm of decreasing pitch.
Guiding Light
The innovative Homecoming Mode is the highlight of the R4 features. It is a light on the back of the R4 specifically for boat fishing. It allows you to easily navigate back to your swim in the dark.
The R4 receiver is used as a remote control to turn the light on and off on the R4 bite alarm of your choice. All the lights on all R4 bite alarms can also be turned on together to show you the position of each bite alarm, allowing you to safely navigate back between your lines. This is always a typical hazard when backing up after a drill or after running your line out. In most cases this light is a great help, but in exceptional weather conditions, fog, strong winds, pouring rain or after a long drill that can disorient you, it is an indispensable feature that sets the R4 apart from the rest.
It uses the same signal between the receiver and the bite alarm allowing the light to be operated up to 750 meters away, illuminating your way back, no matter how far you are from your swim.
Next Level Stealth
Another first in bite detection. The R4 has 3 different muting configurations. LEDs on and alarm off on your bite alarm ensures that only your receiver alerts you and no other people are alerted. The LEDs can also be off and your bite alarm sound on so as not to alert anyone of your position or reduce your night vision. Then there is also Covert Mode. This is the ultimate stealth feature. It mutes both the LEDs and the bite alarm. Only you and your receiver are alerted. Perfect for waters where this is the only way to fish there.
Night Glo
To highlight the R4’s launch, the new Night Glo watchers attach directly to the R4 bite detectors for an LED output that results in a beautifully shining Night Glo Bobbin or Swing Arm when the bite detector LED is on.
Matching colors between watchers and R4 bite detectors with an additional option for black bodies with a white LED.
Anti-Theft Alarm
The R4 receiver has an anti-theft alarm that warns when a paired R4 bite alarm is turned off to steal. The R4 receiver responds immediately with a loud dual signal. This anti-theft alarm can be turned on and off in seconds.
