Operating this fishfinder is very easy. You have instant access to preloaded views from the simple menu system, which you control with the soft-key buttons.
CHIRP stands for “Compressed High Intensity Radar Pulse.” By covering a wide range of frequencies, CHIRP produces more accurate, more detailed results of fish, structure and bottom.
The Dual Spectrum CHIRP 2D sonar system gives you two ways to search through the Low-Q CHIRP transducer; Wide Mode for maximum coverage and Narrow Mode to focus on the smallest detail.
MEGA CHIRP Down Imaging: DI filters out noise and clutter for a super clear image under the boat. CHIRP Digital Sonar processing from Down Imaging Sonar means you see lots of detail to make finding the fish easier and you can observe structures under the boat in great detail. Compared to the normal DI, the MEGA has much more power (frequency above 1000 kHz) for an even brighter image with 3X more detail.
MEGA CHIRP Side Imaging: With SI you filter out noise and clutter for a super clear image on both sides of the boat. CHIRP Digital Sonar processing of Side Imaging sonar means you see fish and structures to the left and right of the boat. Compared to the normal SI, the MEGA has much more power (frequency above 1000 kHz) for an even brighter image with 3X more detail.
The HELIX 7 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS G4 is equipped with an internal GPS and Humminbird baseboard. This gives you an adequate view of the underwater terrain immediately by default and allows you to fish and navigate with confidence. The system is compatible with Humminbird’s LakeMaster® and CoastMaster™ products, as well as Navionics® maps.
A great feature of this model is AutoChart Live. This lets you create real-time maps of your cuttings as you sail. It comes standard with eight hours of built-in recording time, which you can expand with AutoChart Zero Line SD cards for virtually endless AutoChart Live chart capacity.
