If you fish statically for carp, then your carp rods are likely resting on a rod pod fitted with a bite alarm. You can choose what you like. Some prefer to use separate banksticks and set their rods apart, others prefer to keep their rods close together and use a rod pod. With the help of a rod pod you can easily ensure that the rods are in the right position, by the distribution on the buzzer bars the rods are exactly at the same distance from each other. This way you will always have an overview and nothing will get mixed up.
Rod pods are available in many different versions, each with their own purpose. For example, there are rod pods with which you can put your rods with the tips up along the water's edge, which is ideal for fishing on rivers or other flowing water. Other pods are equipped with an adjustable tripod support and some rod pods have a very stable construction, allowing your rods to rest securely on the pods even on rough or uneven terrain. The material from which rod pods are manufactured also differs. Nowadays, more and more stainless steel rod pods are on the market. This material is a little heavier, but very durable.
When you are about to buy a rod pod, there are many things to take into consideration. Think about what you want to use the rod pod for, the kind of water you fish on, the surface on which the rod pod should be placed and so on. You also have the choice between a three-rod and a four-rod rod pod, depending on the number of rods you want to be able to use at the same time. Don't forget that, in addition to the rod pod, you also need to buy bite detectors and rear supports. Fishing brands that are renowned for their high quality rod pods include Fox, JRC and Ultimate.
